17-Year-Old Victim Identified, Another Hurt In Steele Creek Homicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A 17-year-old died and another person was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a deadly shooting in Steele Creek overnight, according to a news release.

The victim in this case has been identified as 17-year-old Murahnee Johnson.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 27th, officers responded to a service call about shots fired on Long Talon Way in Steele Creek.

Upon arrival, officers say they discovered two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One of the victims, Johnson, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The police’s investigation found that an occupied residence was shot at, but no one inside the home was injured.
