Family Wants Answers Into Charlotte Woman’s Death

CHARLOTTE, NC — Surrounded by family, Millie Danzy’s Mother, Lindora fights her emotions.

“I think about my baby,” said Lindora Danzy to a group of journalists.

One of Danzy’s four kids could also be seen behind grandma, wiping back tears. The little girl’s mother was found dead two days after Christmas at her apartment on Green Needles Court.

“I stayed home Sunday because I felt something was wrong. Because my baby never did answer the phone. After I [saw] her on December the 20th, I kept calling and calling,” explained Lindora Danzy.

Cedric Watts also went missing the night of December 20th. His family filed a missing persons report three days later.

WCCB Charlotte’s Gary Brode sat down with Watts’ family on Wednesday. Just minutes after the interview, investigators told Watts’ family the news they feared. Watts’ and Danzy were dead from an apparent drug overdose.

Lindora Danzy knows in her heart someone laced those drugs with fentanyl and she wants to know who and why.

“People with bad attention. Not good attention, bad attention,” said Danzy.

The Danzy’s and the Watts, two families forever entwined by pain and loss.

“We got to put our heads together and come up with a solution. The truth about what happened, there’s two bodies, that’s too many memories down the drain,” said Danzy’s brother Michael Brown.

We reached out to CMPD for further details on their deaths. We have not yet received a response.
