Police Searching For Vehicle Involved In Fatal Hit-And-Run In Salisbury

SALISBURY, N.C. – Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist in Salisbury on Friday morning.

Police say they responded to South Main Street in Salisbury around 8 a.m. on Friday, December 29th about a person laying on the side of the road.

When police arrived, they identified Mark Edward Brotherton, 48, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police say that Brotherton was traveling toward Salisbury on a bicycle when he was struck by a Nissan Armada traveling in the same direction. 

All lanes on South Main Street were closed for hours for police to conduct an on-site investigation.

Police provided a sample photo of the vehicle in question for this case. Officers believe the vehicle year is between 2008 to 2015.
