Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting A Mentally Disabled Person

BURKE COUNTY, N.C. – Investigators in Burke County have arrested a Connelly Springs man for allegedly raping a mentally disabled person.

Police were made aware of this incident on August 2nd, 2023.

Authorities arrested Wesley Neece, 47, at his home on Thursday, January 11th without incident. This stems from a months-long investigation into the incident that police say happened over the summer.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office charged Neece with first degree force sex offense, second degree force sex offense and sexual battery.

Neece is due in court next month.
