One Person Seriously Hurt In Fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – One person was seriously hurt in a fire at an apartment complex in north Charlotte, according to the Charlotte Fire Department.

The person was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to Medic.

The fire started just after 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 13th on Prospect Drive near Tom Hunter Road.

WCCB Charlotte’s photographer captured personnel administering CPR on the victim. There is no update on their condition at this time.

The fire was contained in approximately 35 minutes by 30 firefighters. Charlotte Fire believes it started from the cooktop of an electric range. 

Two apartments were affected by the fire. An estimated $80,000 was lost in property damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
