CMPD: Missing 79-Year-Old Woman Found Dead In North Charlotte Creek
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, shortly before 12:00 p.m., as CMPD detectives were continuing the search efforts for Nancy Brown, they located the deceased remains of a female, believed to be Brown, in a nearby creek near Kirkgard Trail in north Charlotte. Brown has been missing since October 9, 2023.
The Medical Examiner’s office will be conducting an investigation into the cause of death to include the positive identification of the deceased. The CMPD Homicide unit will be conducting a death investigation in conjunction with the Medical Examiner’s office.
The investigation into this case is active and ongoing. As additional information develops, it will be released by the CMPD’s Public Affairs Office.
