VALE, N.C. – One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Lincoln County Wednesday afternoon.
The wreck happened around 2:10 p.m. on Hoover Elmore Road near Cat Square Road on Wednesday, January 24th.
Police say a 2003 Honda Element was traveling west on Hoover Elmore Road. Jessie Allen Adams, the driver, ran off the road to the right and struck a tree.
Allen, 37, died on scene as a result of their injuries.
An initial investigation determined that Adams was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Authorities do not believe speed or impairment were contributing factors to the crash.
The road was closed for approximately one hour but has since re-opened.
