CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Central Piedmont Community College officials say CMPD officers made an arrest at a parking deck on campus after an alleged shooting on Wednesday around 11:15 a.m. The shooting was reported on Cherry Street.
Police say a woman was taken to a local hospital for a non-life-threatening injury. Police say the preliminary investigation indicates the shooting was the result of a dispute between known individuals.
Central Piedmont Community College students and staff were told to shelter in place until the scene was fully cleared by police at 11:45 a.m. Police say the shooting did not happen on the campus of Central Piedmont Community College.
CMPD says the firearm used in the shooting has been recovered. No other details are being released at this time.
