Retired Charlotte Fire Captain Killed In Car Crash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A retired Charlotte Fire Captain was struck and killed Wednesday night, shutting down a portion of Interstate 485 Inner near Mint Hill.

The Charlotte Fire Department confirmed on X that retired Captain Tony Moore died as a result of a car accident.

This happened near I-485 exit 43 at Blair Road at approximately 6:49 p.m on Wednesday, January 24th. The highway re-opened at 10:38 p.m.
