Parents Upset About Cabarrus County School’s Decision To Close Elementary School

CONCORD – Plenty of parents upset tonight in Cabarrus County at school board hearing to close one elementary school.

As of now, Beverly Hills Elementary  is expected to close at the end of this year.  Monday night, parents, teachers and even students got to share their thoughts with the board of educations.

The closure would be a part of the district realignment plan, forcing Beverly Hills students to merge with the students of Coltrane Webb elementary.

The board says that closing Beverly Hills will cut costs and merge smaller neighborhood schools together.

According to the district, board action on Beverly Hills is expected to happen on February 5th at the board monthly work session.

the board action on realignment is expected to happen on February 12th during the boards monthly business meeting.
