Cornelius Man Arrested After Drugs, Firearms Found In Search Warrant

CORNELIUS, N.C. – A Cornelius man is facing a slew of charges after drugs and two firearms were found in a search warrant by police.

Officers executed a search warrant at 19416 Smithville Lane in Cornelius on Thursday, February 1st.

At the Cornelius home, officials say they found 314 grams of methamphetamine, 100 grams of cocaine, 44 dosage units of MDMA, and 24 grams of marijuana. Police also discovered a Smith & Wesson 5.7 firearm, a Taurus 9mm firearm and $1,114 in cash.

Authorities arrested Marcus Black, 44, on-scene without incident following a months-long investigation into this case.

Black has been charged with the following:

  • Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
  • Felony Sale of Narcotics within 1,000 feet of a park
  • Felony Level II Trafficking in Methamphetamine by Possession
  • Felony Level I Trafficking in Cocaine by Possession
  • Felony Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance
  • Felony Possession With Intent To Distribute Schedule I Controlled Substance
  • Felony Possession With Intent To Distribute Methamphetamine
  • Felony Possession With Intent To Distribute Cocaine
  • Misdemeanor Carrying Concealed Gun
  • Misdemeanor Aggravated Possession of Marijuana
  • Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Black was taken to the Mecklenburg County Jail and issued a $525,00 secured bond.
