LANCASTER, S.C. – A motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a pickup truck in Lancaster County on Saturday night, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
It happened around 7:24 p.m. on Potter Road near Balkum Road.
Officials say Charles Polston, 46, was traveling north on Potter Road, operating a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle. A 2023 Ford pickup truck was attempting to turn onto Potter Road out of a private driveway, but collided with the motorcyclist.
Polston was taken to a MUSC-Lancaster where he died as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash. The Ford driver was not injured. Both were the lone occupants in their respective vehicles.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the collision.
