Morganton Woman Charged For Trafficking Methamphetamine

LENOIR, N.C. – A Morganton woman is facing multiple charges for trafficking methamphetamine and being in possession of over $32,000 worth of drugs.

Jesse Leighann Schwarts, 30, was arrested at her Morganton home on Wednesday, February 14th. She has been charged with multiple counts of trafficking methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance.

Authorities allegedly seized 214 grams of methamphetamine, a 9mm handgun and approximately 300 grams of an unknown pill. The drugs hold a total value of $32,000, according to the North Carolina State Drug Guidelines.

Police also obtained $5,700 in cash.

“There is zero tolerance for a drug dealer. If you’re going to distribute methamphetamine in our neighborhoods, then be prepared to face the consequences,” Sheriff Alan C. Jones said.

Schwartz is being held at the Caldwell Detention Center with a $250,000 bond.
