Morganton Woman Charged For Possession Of Methamphetamine After Evading Officers
BURKE COUNTY, N.C. – A Morganton woman was arrested in Burke County after police said she fled a traffic stop and was later captured with methamphetamine and suboxone.
On February 12th, deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a black sedan driven by 34-year-old Chastity Dawn Ross. When officers tried to pull the vehicle over, Ross allegedly fled in the sedan into Burke County.
The police chase went on for approximately three miles before Ross made a right-hand turn onto a gravel road that led to Sugar Loaf Road.
Police placed Ross into custody after she left the vehicle and was captured on foot. Officers said they searched her vehicle and found methamphetamine and suboxone.
Ross previously entered the National Crime Information Center on January 4th after having two felony probation violations. She has also been charged with the following:
- Felony Possession Of Methamphetamine
- Felony Flee To Elude Arrest
- Misdemeanor Simple Possession Of Schedule III

Ross received a $75,000 bond and was placed in the Burke County Jail.
