Union County Votes To Remove Fluoride From Public Water

UNION COUNTY – Union County Commissioners voted Monday night to remove fluoride from their local water system.

This come after three different meeting addressing the issue. Twelve people spoke to the board Monday night, half in favor of fluoride and half opposed.

Those in favor say that fluoride in water adds an element of dental care for those who may not be able to get regular treatment.

Those opposed say that they wanted the choice to have the fluoride or not, and not just have the decision made for them.

There is no word yet on when or how the county will remove the Fluoride from the water.
