CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two suspects were arrested Wednesday after breaking into 15 homes and using a U-Haul truck to steal 12 stoves in east Charlotte, according to authorities.
Alvin Hamilton, 48 , and Eugene Wilder, 51, were arrested on Wednesday, February 28th. Both were charged with 15 counts of breaking and entering and 12 counts of larceny after breaking and entering.
Police said a camera monitoring company called 911 about a suspicious U-Haul truck near a construction site for new homes on Carrick Street. Officials said a Mattamy Homes representative confirmed that 15 homes were broken into and 15 stoves were stolen.
The U-Haul truck was spotted by a camera leaving near the incident.
Police located the U-Haul and arrested Hamilton and Wilder following a traffic stop.
