Brothers Arrested In East Charlotte On Drug Trafficking Charges

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two brothers were arrested in east Charlotte after police say they seized eight firearms and found a large quantity of drugs at their residence, CMPD announced Thursday.

Brothers Alan Cruz, 21, and Sergio Cruz, 22, were arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute, possession of heroin and two counts of possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

Officers were initially investigating the Cruz brothers for their involvement in an armed robbery. However, police say they observed drug trafficking activity from the brother’s residence through multiple traffic stops and surveillance.

Officers conducted a search warrant at their residence on February 27th and seized the following:

  • Four Pistols, two of which had illegal switches
  • One Folding Rifle
  • One Shotgun
  • Two Assault Rifles
  • 1,602.4 grams (3.5 pounds) of Marijuana
  • 15 grams of Mushrooms
  • 82.2 grams of MDMA
  • 2.2 grams of Heroin
  • 22.7 grams of Oxycodone
  • 8.8 grams of Cocaine
  • $18,844 in U.S. Currency

CMPD announced the arrests after a year-long investigation.
