MONROE, N.C. – Union County deputies responded to a call that reported a Dunkin Donuts employee shot at him after expressing dissatisfaction with the service, according to a news release.
The release states that the 911 caller requested a refund for his meal due to the restaurant’s service speed that resulted in a verbal altercation between him and an 18-year-old employee, Ricky Miller. The release further says that the caller left and drove away from the restaurant where he claims that he was then chased by the employee who drove into oncoming traffic and fired multiple shots into the caller’s truck.
Deputies say they located Miller’s car and a brief pursuit occurred before Miller crashed his vehicle and being taken into custody. A semi-automatic pistol with an altered serial number was found in his vehicle, as said by the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
Miller was charged with two counts of felony discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, felony flee to elude arrest and possessing a firearm with an altered/damaged serial number.
No injuries were sustained in the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
