Discussion:

The weather will hold up for Election Day for the NC Primaries. Some patchy morning fog is possible. Mostly cloudy skies today with highs reaching the low 70s this afternoon. Disturbance will bring widespread showers and pockets of heavy rain overnight into Wednesday. Localized flooding threat for flood prone areas as 1/2″-1″ possible. Highs will remain above average reaching the mid 60s. We’ll get a brief chance to dry out Thursday as temps climb back into the low 70s. Friday into Saturday a cold front assocaitedΒ with a low pressure system out of the Great Lakes will bring another round of rain and storms to the region. Severe threat is low, but not out of the question with damaging wind and flash flooding the biggest concerns at this point. Because the ground will already be saturated from Wednesday’s rain we could have issues with flooding as an additional 1-3″ of rain will be possible. Drier air slides in late Saturday with near average temps returning early next week with highs in the low 60s and lows back into the upper 30s.
