Police: Mother Turns Herself In For Manslaughter Of Son

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Following an investigation of the death of a three-year-old boy, the mother turned herself in to Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release.

The release states that on February 21, 2024, detectives investigated the death of a three-year-old boy with gunshot wounds who was pronounced dead at a hospital. Police say the investigation resulted in an arrest warrant for the mother of the victim, Candise Griffin, for involuntary manslaughter shortly after the incident.

In the afternoon of March 5, 2024, Griffin turned herself into the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, as said in the release.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
