CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says the shooting of a man in south Charlotte in February was justified.
The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office has consulted with CMPD’s Homicide Unit and concurs with the detectives’ decision not to charge anyone in this case.
CMPD did not provide additional details about what led to this decision.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has identified the victim in an overnight shooting in south Charlotte.
The incident happened on Saturday, February 24th around 1 a.m. on Deep Rock Circle near East Arrowood Road.
Police say they found a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 43-year-old James Perry, who died at the scene.
Investigators have not released the name of a potential suspect in this case.
This shooting is still under investigation.
