Teenager Charged With Murder In West Charlotte Shooting

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police have charged a 17-year-old suspect with murder in connection to a homicide in west Charlotte last month.

The juvenile, who was not named, turned himself in on Wednesday afternoon. Following an interview with detectives, authorities charged the 17 year old with murder.

The shooting happened in the 3800 block of Wilkinson Boulevard on Thursday, February 15th. Jaziyah Haigbea-Boone, 24, died as a result of the incident.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – CMPD detectives in the homicide are investigating a homicide that occurred on Wilkinson Boulevard near Billy Graham Parkway, according to a news release.

The release states that on February 15, 2024 at 12:30 am, officers responded to a call on the 3800 block of Wilkinson Boulevard for Assist Medic service. The release further states that upon arrival on the scene, officers found the victim, Jaziyah Haigbea-Boone, 24, with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are conducting an investigation and is currently active and ongoing. Check back for updates.
