Discussion:
Today will be beautiful with temps nearing 80 for the Piedmont with the upper 60s to lower 70s. A cold front approaches the area Friday. A line of showers and thunderstorms could develop ahead of that cold front and move through the region during the early afternoon. If we see morning showers and storms it will help to stabilize our atmosphere. If we don’t see those storms reach the area we could see a few stronger storms south and east of I-85.The biggest concern will be damaging wind and the potential for hail. Temps will remain mild through the weekend with highs in the mid 70s Saturday. The boundary will stall but rain chances will remain isolated. A second cold front arrives Sunday bringing isolated showers and storms. Much colder air moves in early next week with temps falling into the 20s and 30s by Tuesday morning. Highs will struggle to break out of the 50s through the early part of the week.
