Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Lenoir

LENOIR, N.C. – An investigation is underway after a man was fatally struck by a car on March 14th.

Officers responded to the crash on Wilkesboro Boulevard near Hibriten Drive around 8:13 p.m. Further investigation revealed that Deshon Chester was attempting to cross Wilkesboro Boulevard and stopped in the center lane, according to a news release.

Police say A White 1996 Ford SUV driven by Bradley Walker, entered the center lane westbound from Wilkesboro Boulevard striking Hester.

As a result of the impact, Chester was forced into the eastbound lane and again struck by a 2023 Toyota SUV driven by Maklenzie Thompson.

As a result of the crash, Chester succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, Investigators believe no impairment or extenuating circumstances contributed to this unfortunate accident.
