Diesel Fuel Spill On I-85 Causing Delays

GASTONIA, N.C. – A tractor trailer’s saddle tank ruptured on I-85 between exits 19 and 21, which is causing significant delays, according to a news release.

The release states that a hole in the tank was caused by the tractor trailer being hit by debris in the roadway and leaked 100 gallons of diesel fuel on to the I-85.

There were no injuries due to the accident.

The right lane will be closed for several hours while an environmental cleanup company oversees the cleanup, as said by Gaston County.
