Update (3/20/24)
According to a media release, the Huntersville Police Department identified the suspect as Rahman Ferguson, 53, and discovered that Ferguson had fled to Virginia. The release states that Virginia State Police were contacted and the Alexandria Police Department located Ferguson after a vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash and resulted in Ferguson fleeing on foot.
Police say that Ferguson was taken into custody and they are attempting to return Ferguson to North Carolina to face a murder charge.

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. – Huntersville Police are investigating after a person was found shot in a black SUV in the parking lot of a Walgreens. The drug store is located on Hylas Lane, at the corner of Eastfield Road and Prosperity Church Road.
It happened just after 6pm on Tuesday. Medic pronounced the person dead. Right now, there’s no word on the person’s identity or whether police have anyone in custody.
