CHARLOTTE, N.C. – New information on what officers initially thought was a pedestrian struck and killed on a busy Charlotte street has now turned into a homicide investigation.
Officers responded to a call for service shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday, March 22nd on Brookshire Boulevard.
The initial investigation appeared as if the victim had been hit and killed by a vehicle but further investigation determined the man had injuries that were not consistent with the crash, according to a news release.
Now, police are investigating the death as a homicide.
Witnesses told police the victim was mortally wounded prior to collapsing in the street before he was struck by the vehicle, according to a news release.
