Victim Airlifted To Hospital After Neighbor Dispute In Rowan County

WOODLEAF, N.C. – One person was airlifted to a hospital following a neighborly dispute that led to a stabbing and shots fired, according to the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26th.

Officers responded to a home on Woodleaf Road near Old Oak Lane about a stabbing and shooting. Police said the incident stems from an ongoing dispute between neighbors.

Police were alerted to a victim at a residence on Old Oak Lane that was allegedly stabbed in the neck and back. One other victim was hit in the head with a baseball bat.

Deputies said that multiple shots were fired from a shotgun and a handgun, but nobody was hit.

Michael Lovell, the victim that was stabbed, was airlifted to Baptist Hospital. Officials said he is expected to make a full recovery.

Ryelli Casper, the victim hit in the head with the baseball bat, is expected to be okay, as well.

This incident remains under investigation. Police did not say if anyone was arrested but charges are pending.
