Statesville Man Faces 15 Years In Prison On Child Pornography Charges

STATESVILLE, N.C. – A Statesville man was sentenced to 15 years in prison for possessing images and videos portraying sexual abuse of children, toddlers and infants, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Jessie Leroy Glass, 50, of Statesville, was sentenced Thursday for possession and receipt of child pornography, according to a news release. He was found guilty of all counts by a federal jury.

Investigators say between January and February of 2020, Glass received and possessed photos and videos depicting child pornography.

Glass owned two cell phones that investigators later learned had child sexual abuse material agasint children, toddlers and infants.

Glass was also found in violation while out on bond after his conviction. On two separate occasions, he possessed electronic devices and hid them from his probation officer. One of the devices was another cell phone that contained cartoon images of sexual abuse of children.

Following his sentence, Glass will have a lifetime of supervised release and will need to register as a sex offender. He will be required to pay $5,000 in fines and $6,000 in restitution.
