Suspect Charged For Killing 17-Year-Old Jack In The Box Employee
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police have charged a 28-year-old with murder in connection to the deadly shooting of a 17-year-old Jack in the Box employee in west Charlotte.
Marcus Dahn, 28, was arrested on Saturday, March 30th for an unrelated arrest warrant. Following an interview with detectives, he was charged with the following:
- 1st degree murder
- Robbery with a dangerous weapon
- Felony conspiracy
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, 2 counts
- Possession of a stolen firearm
Dahn was transferred into the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting happened on Friday afternoon.
Police said the teen – 17-year-old Fate Brannon – died in the Jack in the Box on the corner of North Hoskins Road and Brookshire Boulevard just before 2:30 p.m.
Major Ryan Butler with CMPD talked with WCCB’s Emma Mondo.
He said Brannon was waiting to be picked up after his shift, when two people dressed in all black and wearing ski masks approached him.
“Those suspects clearly targeted this individual. A confrontation ensued inside the restaurant and these suspects shot the victim,” said Butler. “There’s not a set of circumstances where any of us would be okay with this. This is somebody’s son.”
The shooting is still under investigation. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact CMPD at 704-432-TIPS.
