Discussion:
Rain is starting to move into the region this morning. There is a tornado watch in effect for Chester county. Right now, keeping an eye on dew points. If they continue to rise we could have some issues since the one ingredient we’re missing right now is sufficient instability for these storms to take off. Wind shear is impressive and at the very least we will have storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts with heavy downpours that could lead to localized flooding. The greatest severe threat and area to really keep an eye on for tornado development would be south of I-85 where we could see the most instability. Storms will end closer to 8 or 9am. We may see a few lingering showers, but the severe threat will press east as the cold front moves away from the area. Temps in the mountains will drop through the afternoon with winds picking up across the area. Mountain snow will be possible for the highest elevations with up to an inch possible for areas above 5000. Little to no accumulation for the lower elevations. It will be a cold start tomorrow with temps in the 30s and 40s. Highs will struggle to break out of the upper 50s to lower 60s. Winds will die down by Thursday evening. It will remain cool and below average through Saturday with temps rebounding back into the upper 60s by Sunday.’
