Five Displaced, Four Dogs Rescued In Southeast Charlotte House Fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Five people were displaced and four dogs were rescued from a southeast Charlotte home after it caught on fire Thursday morning.

It happened just after 4 a.m. at a residence on Old House Circle near Margaret Wallace Road.

Officials said one person was treated by Medic and was released. No other injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.

Crews were able to control the fire in approximately 22 minutes. Firefighters rescued four dogs while five occupants in the home were displaced.

Officials said the fire started in the back patio of the home and was caused by improperly discarded smoking materials.

The Red Cross is assisting the displaced occupants at this time
