Murder Suspect Benjamin Taylor Extradited Back To North Carolina

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Benjamin Taylor, the man accused of killing a mother and her two children, has been extradited back to North Carolina and is in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Taylor is accused of killing 22-year-old Makayla Johnson and her two children, four-year-old, Miracle, and seven-month-old, Messiah.
Taylor was found at a place called Slab City in Imperial County, California, according to officials. He was released into the custody of the US Marshals Service.
Johnson and her two children were reported missing on March 8th at an apartment complex off Orchard Trace Lane in north Charlotte. Their remains were found in an apartment at the complex on Friday, March 15th.

IMPERIAL CO. CALIFORNIA – Body camera footage released from the Imperial County Sheriffs Office in California shows deputies arresting 34 year old Benjamin Taylor.
Video is from March 16th in an open desert area of the county known as Slab City.
In the video, officers call out to Taylor for him to come out of his tent. About three minutes later, officers approach the tent and open the zipper.
Deputies then drag the suspect out of the tent, cuff and search him. Law enforcement officials found a number different items, including Taylor’s phone, a set of keys and multiple pill bottles that did not belong to him. A few minutes later, officials are seen taking Taylor’s fingerprints.

Their bodies were found on the Orchard Trace Condominiums property on March 15th.
