Three Arrested In Alexander County On Drug Trafficking Charges

TAYLORSVILLE, N.C. – Three people in Alexander County were arrested Thursday in connection to an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office.

Authorities have been conducting a drug investigation in Alexander County since the beginning of the year.

Officials said the sheriff’s office served arrest warrants for Matthew Wood, 41, and April Atwood, 44, on April 4th. Aaron Horrocks, 47, was also arrested at the residence.

Officers found additional controlled substance at the residence, leading to more charges against Wood and Atwood, officials said.

Wood received a $150,000 secured bond. He was charged with the following:

  • Maintaining a dwelling to sell controlled substance
  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine
  • Simple possession of schedule VI
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia, 3 counts

Atwood was handed a $200,000 secured bond. She received the following charges:

  • Maintain a dwelling to sell controlled substance
  • Trafficking methamphetamine, 2 counts
  • Possession of methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine
  • Simple possession of schedule VI
  • Possess marijuana drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia, 2 counts

Authorities issued a $75,000 bond for Horrocks. Charges against him are below:

  • Maintaining a dwelling to sell controlled substance
  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Simple possession of schedule VI
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

All three will make a court appearance on Monday, April 8th.
