CHARLOTTE, N.C. – US-74 westbound re-opened Friday afternoon after it was closed for hours due to a vehicle crash.
The road closed around 3:30 p.m. but cleared up by 5:30 p.m. It was closed at exit 243 near Charlottetowne Avenue.

NCDOT said the road is closed at exit 243 near Charlottetowne Avenue.
Law enforcement is on the scene and are advising motorists to a detour route. The road closure is expected to have a high impact on traffic.
NCDOT expects the area to clear up by 6:30 p.m.
