One Killed In Chester County Crash

GREAT FALLS, S.C. – One person was killed early Sunday morning when a vehicle veered off a Chester County road and crashed into a tree, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 2:15 a.m. on SC Highway 97 near Taxidermist Drive.

Officials said the driver of a 2016 Nissan Frontier truck traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver died at the scene as a result of the crash.

It is unclear if speed or impairment were contributing factors in the collision.

An investigation into the crash is underway by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
