The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Xeniel Baez, according to CMPD.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Homicide detectives with CMPD are conducting an investigation that resulted in one person dead, according to a news release.
The release states that on April 7, 2024, officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call just after 7 pm on Druid Hills Way near North Graham Street. The officers found the victim with a gunshot wound and transported them to a nearby hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead, as said in the release.
