After obtaining a search warrant seizing Holt’s cellphone and police say they found him to be in possession of images depicting child sexual abuse. A release states that Holt was then charged with two counts each of statutory sexual offense and second-degree exploitation of a child. It also states that he was charged with one count of third-degree exploitation of a child.

LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Carl Holt, 66, was arrested on February 5th on four counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of statutory sexual offense, according to a news release.
The release states that an investigation began in October of 2023 after a report of possible child abuse and resulted in uncovered allegations of sexual assault.
Lincoln County deputies state the victims are known to Holt and were juveniles at the time of the incidents.
The Sheriff’s Office claims they charged Holt on February 5th and brought him to the county’s magistrate office. Deputies say Holt appeared before a District Court judge on February 6th and remains in jail under a $40,000 secured bond.
