CLOVER, S.C. – A juvenile was taken into custody Friday after bringing a loaded firearm and a knife to Clover High School in York County.
Law enforcement was notified of a student allegedly possessing a weapon on school grounds, sending the school into Hold Protocols, according to the Clover School District.
The school resource officer removed the student from the building, and police took the juvenile into custody.
Officials are investigating the motive behind the student bringing the weapons to school. The sheriff’s office said the student did not threaten anyone at the school.
This is an active investigation. The sheriff’s office did not say if any charges have been filed yet.
