Suspect In Relation To Missing Belmont Man Admits To Disposing The Body

Officers release additional information regarding the disappearance of Andrew Tench. Officers say they spoke with the suspect in question, 31-year-old D’Shaun Robinson.
Robinson revealed to police that Tench was dead and stated that he disposed of Tench’s body into the trash, according to authorities. Robinson is also accused of using Tench’s credit card to purchase items at a Target, according to information released in court.
Robinson remains in custody as the investigation continues. Check back for updates.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police charged a 31-year-old man with concealment of a death following an investigation into the disappearance involving Andrew Tench.
Following an extensive investigation, authorities identified D’Shaun Montrell Robinson as a person of interest.
A search warrant was conducted at Robinson’s residence on the morning of Thursday, April 11th. Officials did not specify what was found but said Robinson voluntarily went to the Law Enforcement Center in Uptown to speak with detectives.
Robinson was taken into custody following the interview. He was charged with the following:
- Concealment Of A Death
- Identity Theft
- Financial Card Theft, Felony – 2 counts
- Financial Card Fraud
- Larceny Of Motor Vehicle
- Financial Card Fraud, Misdemeanor – 3 counts
No further information was released.
Tench, 31, of Belmont, was reported missing on Monday, March 25th. He was heading to Charlotte from his Belmont home.
Once it was determined that Tench was last seen within Charlotte city limits, CMPD said they took the lead on the investigation.
