CMPD Officer Becoming Known As “The Singing Cop”
CHARLOTTE, N.C.– CMPD Officer, Kelvin Moore is sworn to protect and serve. But, he was born to sing. Moore first sang for the department on the night of his first shift. He says everyone has to get up a sing a song. Some officers perform something simple like the ABC song, but Moore chose to sing a Bill Withers tune called “Ain’t No Sunshine”. He impressed the departrment so much that he was tapped to sing the National Anthem for special ceremonies and events. Moore admits that he loves to sing, but he isn’t sure if he’d give up police work to become a superstar singer. Officer Moore is scheduled to sing the Star Spangled Banner for the upcoming Police Week.
