Mooresville Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Assault With Hammer, Screwdriver

MOORESVILLE, N.C. – A 32-year-old man was charged with attempted murder after allegedly assaulting a victim with a hammer and a screwdriver in Mooresville, according to the Mooresville Police Department.

It happened around 7 a.m. Friday morning on Spruce Street. Police said one victim was assaulted with a hammer and screwdriver in a shed behind the residence.

The victim and witnesses said the suspect was 32-year-old Tymir Tyvay Lowe.

Lowe was taken into custody without incident after police said they spotted him in response to a suspicious person call.

Lowe was charged with one felony count of attempted murder. He is being held in the Iredell County Detention Center without bond.
