Panthers’ Owner David Tepper Stops At Charlotte Restaurant Over Sign Saying He Should Stay Out Of Draft Decisions
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Another Tepper Tantrum?? Carolina Panthers’ owner David Tepper is seen on surveillance video inside Dilworth Neighborhood Bar and Grille discussing a sign out front that reads, “Please let the coach & GM pick this year.”
A jab at the owner who allegedly had his hand in picking QB Bryce Young in last year’s draft over C.J. Stroud who ended up being the NFL’s Rookie of the Year with the Houston Texans.
The owner of Dilworth’s Neighborhood Bar and Grille says Tepper came in asking about the sign and who created it. Tepper then took a Philadephia Eagles hat off an employee. The owner and employee say it was in a joking manner.
Tepper spent only about a minute inside the restaurant before leaving.

A sign outside Dillworth Neighborhood Bar and Grille displays a message presumably aimed at Panthers owner, David Tepper (WCCB Charlotte / Gary Brode).
This isn’t the first time Tepper has been in the news for his antics. He was seen in a video on social media throwing his drink at a Jacksonville Jaguars fan after the Panthers took a 26-0 beating in Week 17.
The Panthers finished dead last in the 2023-2024 season with only two wins after picking Young with the number 1 overall draft pick. In the trade to get Young, the Panthers also gave away their 2024 first round pick, which the Chicago Bears used to draft QB Caleb Williams with the number one overall pick.
The Panthers did make a late move Thursday night/early Friday morning to move up a spot to grab University of South Carolina’s wide receiver Xavier Legette with pick number 32. Click HERE for more details on Legette.
