Police Seize Over $900,000 Worth Of Drugs At Local Hotel

GASTONIA, N.C. – Two people are facing charges after police seized approximately $910,000 in drugs at a Gastonia hotel.

Police seized nearly $400,000 worth of cocaine and more than $500,000 worth of fentanyl.

Officials said they obtained a search warrant on two hotel rooms in Gastonia following an investigation from a traffic stop.

Authorities arrested and charged 51-year-old Esmeralda Mendez Domingues and 43-year-old Omar Bautista Herrera, both of whom are California residents.

Both were charged with two counts of trafficking in cocaine and two counts of trafficking in fentanyl.

Domingues and Herrera are being held on a $2 million bond.
