CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Several GoFundMe accounts have been started to assist the families of the US Marshals and CMPD Officers who were shot and killed or injured after a suspect opened fire on the officers Monday.
Three US Marshals were killed and another was left injured after being shot while attempting to issue a warrant Monday afternoon in East Charlotte. One CMPD Officer was killed while three other officers were shot and injured by suspects within the home after arriving to assist the US Marshals.
Back the Blue NC has started a GoFundMe to assist those affected by Monday’s deadly shooting and released this statement on the page.
“In response to this devastating event, a GoFundMe campaign has been launched to provide support for those affected, offering a beacon of hope amidst the darkness of this tragedy. As the investigation unfolds and the names of the fallen are confirmed, the community stands together in solidarity, determined to honor the bravery of those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.”
