MOORESVILLE, N.C. – Three juveniles are facing charges in connection to double homicide and hours-long standoff with police in Mooresville back in March, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
The double homicide happened on Home Drive in Mooresville on Saturday, March 9th. Police determined that two juveniles – ages 17 and 15 – accompanied Justin Strawser and were involved in the homicides.
Following the shooting, law enforcement encountered Strawser at a residence on Ostwalt Amity Road near Troutman. An eight-hour standoff ensued.
The two suspects involved in the homicide and two other juveniles were inside the residence. A third juvenile, also 15 years old, is accused of firing shots at deputies during the standoff.
The 17-year-old and 15-year-old juveniles involved in the homicides are being held in South Carolina. They were charged with the following:
- First-Degree Murder, 2 counts
- Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill
- Felony Armed Robbery, 3 counts
- Felony Conspiracy to Commit Murder
The third juvenile was charged with assault with deadly weapon on law enforcement, methamphetamine possession and carrying a concealed weapon. He is being held at a juvenile detention facility in North Carolina.
Ashlee Louise Klepfer, Strawser’s wife, was arrested on March 12th after aiding her husband following the homicides. She is being held on a $1.05 million dollar bond.
Officials said the arrest of the three juveniles concluded the investigation. The incident resulted in four arrests and the death of two victims and the suspect.
