CLOVER, S.C. – York County Sheriff’s Office have made two arrests in relation to a homicide that took place on May 3, according to a news release.
The release states that officials investigated a shooting death on Enon Church Road that resulted in the death of 51-year-old Stephen Stowe. After an investigation, deputies say they charged and apprehended two suspects in the case.
Mitchell Strickland, 38, was taken into custody in Randolph County, North Carolina, who currently has arrest warrants for murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, as said by in the release.
Deputies say Shelby Strickland, 32, was also taken into custody in Randolph County and has an arrest warrant for accessory after the fact of a murder.
The victim and suspects knew each other and the York County Sheriff’s Office say the incident resulted from an escalated argument. This is the first homicide of 2024 in York County.
