Driver Facing Charges After Motorcyclist Killed In Wreck On Brookshire Boulevard

A motorcyclist died from the injuries he sustained in a wreck on Brookshire Boulevard Wednesday afternoon. Another driver involved in the accident is facing charges, according to CMPD.

The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Kendrick Neely.

The preliminary investigation indicates that Neely was traveling north on Brookshire Boulevard when a Cadillac driven by, Rico Conception Aery, 41, turned into the path of Neely’s motorcycle. The impact of the collision caused Neely to be ejected from the motorcycle.

Aery was arrested and transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the following: Misdemeanor Death by Motor Vehicle. Aery was also issued citations for Driving While License Revoked and Failure to Yield Right-of-Way.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A wreck involving a motorcycle and a car has shut down Brookshire Boulevard northbound at Beatties Ford Road.

There are major traffic backups in the area. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. The road is expected to be shut down until 4:45pm.

Medic says one person was transported with life threatening injuries to the hospital. This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
