GoFundMe Created For Missing Matthews Woman Found Dead

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A GoFundMe has been started to help with funeral costs for an 18-year-old Matthews woman that was found dead in a movie theater parking lot after being missing for two days.

Police found Olivia Bruce’s body in the Regal Stonecrest at Piper Glen parking lot at around 1 p.m. on May 9th.

Bruce was set to graduate from Providence High School later this month.

“I am overwhelmed by the love and support for Olivia and utterly heartbroken by her sudden death,” the GoFundMe said.

Police said there is no evidence of foul play, but they are conducting an investigation into her death.

In the description of the GoFundMe, Bruce’s father says the fundraiser is created to help with funeral costs. Any additional funds will be used to donate to charities that aligned with Olivia’s values.

As of May 16th, the GoFundMe has collected $7,275.
