CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Detectives are investigation a hit and run crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on May 19, according to a news release.
The release states that at 4:05 a.m. on May 19, officers responded to a call for service on E. W.T. Harris Boulevard and found an unconscious pedestrian. The pedestrian was identified as 57-year-old Wade Burch, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives claim that Burch attempted to cross W.T. Harris Boulevard and was subsequently hit by a silver or gray sedan. The driver of the vehicle fled and was last seen traveling southbound on E. W.T. Harris Boulevard towards N. Sharon Amity Road, as said in the release.
CMPD’s Major Crash Investigation Unit is requesting the public’s help in identifying the vehicle, which could be a silver or gray 2020 to 2023 Totoya Corolla with damage to the front right bumper or front right side of the vehicle.
